Samantha's First Dance Recital

We enjoyed a wonderful evening watching our big girl dance on a stage for the first time. She did great, and loved every minute of it. She has matured so much in a year and we love seeing her shine. It is hard to imagine 5 years ago I was pregnant and about to find out if it was a girl or a boy. Samantha has been a delight from the begining and her smile captures the hearts of anyone who sees her.

Canyon Lake Play

We went camping Easter weekend near Canyon Lake and had a wonderful time. Arizona is great this time of year and we enjoyed the blooming desert and lake water. Jacob and Samantha did not hesitate to play in the lake, however, Nathan was a little more timid. Eventually he joined in the water play and had a great time. We plan on camping at least once a month this summer and so far we are off to a good start.

Jacob loves Soccer

Jacob started with the Mesa Soccer Club this spring. They have a developmental league where the 5 and 6 yr olds play 3-v-3. It is great because they really teach them skills and it is not a mass of kids tripping over each other going for the ball. He loves to play and we of course think he is quite good. Several of his close friends are on the team with him. A few more games and then we wait until fall.

Usery Pass Camping Trip March 8 and 9

We enjoyed a nice weekend in this fabulous Arizona spring. Us and several of our friends made our first camping trip of 2008 last weekend. These are just a few of the pictures...peanuts were the big hit. All the kids sat and "shelled" peanuts for an hour. Also, the men tried to start the charcoal for dinner with a propane torch due to lack of lighter fluid...needless to say, some one had to run and get some. We enjoyed toasted marshmellows and a dutch oven cook off, although I do not think a winner was ever decided! It was fun and all the kids love being outside. We have another camping trip planned in a couple weeks!

Quiet Reflections

Well, it is March 2008...almost one year has past since our path dramatically changed course. On March 17 Nathan will be with us for one year! Can you believe it? One pitcure is from when he first came to us and the other is from this morning...he has grown up so much!

The call by God to take in this wonderful child has been one of the most rewarding experiences we have had. To be obedient to God's call has given Him the opportunity to show His miraculous provision. To trust in His love for us and Nathan has brought unimaginable peace and healing. Oh, that HE be given all the praise! While reading His word the other day this verse jumped off the page and speaks volumes to us about our current journey..."By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established, through knowledge its rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures." Proverb 24:3-4

Happy one year with us sweet boy!

Nathan...you are one of those treasures...we love you with our whole heart!

Dr. Seuss Day

Jacob and his class are celebrating "Reading Across American" Day by having a Dr. Seuss Day. Each child was encouraged to bring a Dr. Seuss book and dress up like the Cat in the Hat. Thanks to Grandma Annie, he has the hat. He passed on the wiskers and nose on his face. The book he is holding was mine and that is the one he choose to take to class to share...so sweet!
