Straight

I have been totally uninspired these days when in comes to Hannah's hair...maybe it is the heat...maybe just what happens when hair becomes your hobby. After talking with my gorgeous sister in law over the weekend I thought I would like to try to a straight look for the first time. She offered me her straightening comb and armed with my flat iron I got busy...

First...washed, detangled and ultra moisturized. Got to tame those curls...

Then I began to section out the hair. After watching a Youtube video I knew I needed to blow dry first, then begin to straighten.

First section blow dried, and straightened with the comb. It was after this that I realized I needed both my flat iron and straightening comb.

Whole back half done. At this point I was really happy with how it was turning out but as time began to move on the hair began to shrink up and some of the curl started coming back.

The final product...she is happy but this mama is not. Sooooo, I will have to do a bit more research and find out what I am doing wrong, or maybe her curls just won't ever be straight.

After I took this picture I pulled it into two puff balls and she looked pretty cute. I will say one thing her hair is super soft right now! It feels great even though it may not be the desired look I was going for.

2nd and 4th grade!!!

Today our big kids went back to school. Samantha started 2nd grade and Jacob 4th. One was way more excited to go back than the other...(it was Samantha). She has a desire to learn, learn and learn some more. Jacob has a great teacher this year I know he will have tons of success and grow in confidence. Oh, and my feet were doing a happy dance.

Hotdog?

I was changing my nephew's diaper and Leah came over to me and asked...

"Mom, that a hotdog in dy-per?

I almost died laughing...

"No honey, that is not a hotdog is his diaper."

A 10yr old's birthday party

Birthday celebration at Chase Field

We were lucky enough to have the Dbacks home on Jacob's birthday so we invited two friends and have a BLAST!!! Those boys were goofy and full of energy...and although we didn't win we screamed "BEAT LA" as loud as we could. The crowd was electric which just made the birthday celebration even more fun.

Double D

It is true...it has finally happened. I knew it would happen, I just didn't think it would come this fast.

Our son...Jacob Anthony has now entered the double digits...he turned 10 today!!!

It is hard to believe that 10 yrs have passed since we were blessed with such an amazing give from God...a son. He is a delight and a joy in our lives. He is goofy, sarcastic and loyal. We have now entered what they call the 'tween" years...not sure I am ready for mood swings but as in everything else I guess we will take it one day at a time and spend many hours on our knees.

Happy Birthday Jacob!!!!

Also, he is pretty lucky...he gets a birthday weekend celebration. Tonight I am taking him and two of his soccer buddies to the Dbacks game. Tomorrow we will have 15-20 boys here swimming, wrestling and generally having fun for his party. And finally on Sunday we are having all the family over for lunch and swimming. It's going to be AWESOME!

Legoland (part 2)

On our second day I decided to leave the camera at home and just enjoy the day. (Good thing I still had my cell phone camera...wink, wink)

All in all the trip to Legoland was a huge success for our family.
