In Honor of Stetson Cowan

Nathan's Great Uncle Stetson went home to be with Jesus last night after a courageous battle with cancer. He was an extraordinary man and true American hero. He was retired USAF and was a test pilot for Boeing. He was a quiet, gentle soul who loved Jesus! As I worshiped in church today I was overcome with the peace of our Lord and the truth that Stetson is with Him and pain free. We sang this song today...this one is for you Stetson...

Jesus, be the center
Be my source,
be my light, Jesus

Jesus, be the center
Be my hope
Be my song, Jesus

Be the fire in my heart.
Be the wind in my sail,
Be the reason that I live,
Jesus, Jesus

Jesus, be my vision
Be my help,
Be my guide, Jesus

Here is a picture of Uncle Stetson on the day Nathan came into our family.

I had the great honor to serve Stets Cowan as his First Sergeant for two years at Hill Air Force Base. He was the finest Officer and Commander that I served with in my Air Force career. He was always kind, fair, and genuinely cared for the welfare of his troops, and their families. He was my friend. I was honored when he performed my retirement ceremony at the end of my career. We are free because of his outstanding service to our country. God bless him, Tess, and all of his family.

I was honored to serve Stets Cowan as his First Sergeant for two years at Hill Air Force Base, Utah. He was my Commander and good friend. There was not a better Commander in the Air Force than Col. Cowan. He was kind, fair, and genuinely concerned for the welfare of his troops and their families. I was honored when he performed my retirement ceremony at the end of my career.
I will never forget him and am proud of his service that has kept America strong and free. God Bess Stets, Tess, and all of his family.
